On with the bio. My name is Shawn Boyle, born 3/21/72. I come from a military family, so my childhood was spent moving from Airforce base to Airforce base every couple of years. The nice part about that is the change in scenery, and it teaches you to become sociable and confident. These are the two most essential attributes of a personality.
When the government decided to let us stay in one place, they picked a beauty. I ended up in Ft.Walton Beach/Destin, Florida. To a teenager with raging hormones and sexual curiosity, Destin is heaven. The beaches are crystal white, and the water is as green as emeralds. College girls lay in the sun, waiting for some high school kid to embellish them with his stories/lies about pitching for Florida State's baseball team (not that I ever did that). I soon learned that chics dig lifeguards, so I took a CPR class. It was purely for educational purposes I spent seven wonderful summers lying on the beach, or sailing a Hobbie Cat up and down the coast. God I loved that job. Anyway, after a while, I decided that it was time to become responsible and get a real job. That is when I decided to head out west and become a cowboy. No, not really, but I did move to Phoenix, AZ.
I'm getting a little ahead of myself, though. Let me digress. After high school, I went on to the prestigious University of South Alabama. Yes, it is as bad as it sounds. "South" was two hours north of Destin, just across the Alabama line. It was close enough to home to allow me to get money, eat well and do laundry, but far enough away to prevent Mom from popping in on me. South is an infamous party school. I wonder why a guide to the party schools hasn't been written. I can imagine my parents looking up the statistics comparing graduates to alcoholic ratios at South. I don't have enough time to tell you all of my adventures at South Alabama. In addition, I have killed the brain cells that tried to hold on to those memories. Let me just say that it was a fabulous/drunken time. After a while, I noticed people graduating that were two classes behind me, and all the bartenders knew my name. I figured it was time to get serious. That, and I wanted to be a cowboy, so I moved out west.
I finished up my computer science degree at Arizona State University, and graduated a Sun Devil. That event is one of the most important in my life. At times I thought I was never going to graduate. Neither did my father and his checkbook. I have since met a beautiful girl, and life is good. I dream of snowboarding, mountain biking and driving my boat. I haven't got the boat yet, but I'm working on it.
If you've made it this far, I applaud your persistence. I can sum it all up in a few short lines. I was a horny teenager. I went to the wrong college. I got drunk. I went to the right college. I got drunk. I graduated. I met a great girl. I got a good job. I grew up. I can't wait until my high school reunion.
